What to Expect on Sundays

Q: Where do you meet?

A: Our Sunday Service meets at Longfellow Elementary School in Wheaton from 10-11:45am.  Parking is available around the school and in the City Hall parking lot, just south of the school.  The address is 311 W. Seminary Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187.  Click HERE for directions.

Q: Will everyone know what’s going on but me?

A: Like with any good home, we’ve done our best to make Antioch Community Church as welcoming as possible for new guests. Learn more about who we are by clicking our About page.  Whether you’re a longtime church attendee or this is your first time, you will find our gatherings to be structured but also very relaxed. At each gathering, someone from the front will explain what is going to happen next.

For example, a normal service looks like this: Someone will give a “welcome” and then we have a time of worship (singing songs to God). After that, we pray for our church, our city, and the world. (If you aren’t comfortable praying, it is fine to sit quietly and listen to others.) This is followed by a time for church members to worship in the form of giving what the Bible calls “tithes and offerings” (see our Give Page), and then we share some announcements. Occasionally, a few people will share some way that they saw God help them that week.  Next, we have a sermon (a practical message from the Bible that we can apply to our lives), and we finish with a time of personal ministry where everyone has the opportunity to personally receive prayer for needs.  If this isn’t comfortable for you, no problem, it’s not mandatory. We just love helping and praying for people.

Q: How should I dress?

A: Our services have a casual atmosphere and most people dress informally. Feel free to come as you are! We just ask that you wear clothes!

Q: Will they ask me for money?

A: No. The offering time is for people who call Antioch Community Church home and want to give towards our work in the community, our overseas initiatives, and daily operating costs.  We would love for you to fill out a communication card at the service (attached to the brochure handed out at the door) with your contact information.  This is one way we can make sure to get you connected with great people who can see how your visit was and answer any questions you have.

Q: How long is the service?

A: A typical Sunday Morning Service lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes, from 10-11:45am.

Q: After visiting a service, is there a way to get relationally connected?

A: Of course!  We have a communication center that has information about our weekly small groups, LifeGroups, as well as other things going on at ACC:W.  You can also personally meet some of our staff at the communication center after the service.”

Q: Who can I email to get more information about Antioch Community Church?

A: You can email us directly using our Contact page.
